# New member and group management experience
> Learn how to invite members to your workspaces and projects, as well as manage members and groups with the improved workflow.
Starting February 26, 2025, we will roll out a new experience for the **Members** [tab](https://app.labelbox.com/workspace-settings/members) and a new **Groups** [tab](https://app.labelbox.com/workspace-settings/groups) under workspace settings. This change allows you to directly invite users outside of Labelbox to your projects and provides more options to manage workspace or project members.
## Members
While the existing **Members** tab only allows you to invite users to a workspace without any project assignments, you can now directly invite users to projects and add them to groups.
### Invite members to projects
To invite new users directly to projects without granting workspace-level access in the new experience:
On the **Members** tab, click **+ Invite members**.
Enter the email addresses of the users you want to invite.
(Optional) Click **Search groups** and select groups to assign to members.
Click **Search projects** and select projects to assign to members.
In the **Role in groups and projects** dropdown, select a [project-level role](/horizon/guides/roles-and-permissions#project-based-roles).
Click **Invite**.
### Invite members to workspaces
The new workflow still allows you to invite users at the workspace level, granting them access to all projects:
On the **Members** tab, click **+ Invite members**.
Enter the email addresses of the users you want to invite.
Check **Workspace-wide role**.
In the **Role** dropdown, select a [workspace-level role](/horizon/guides/roles-and-permissions##workspace-wide-roles).
Click **Invite**.
### Manage members
The new experience adds more filters that allow you to search for members, including:
* Emails
* Group
* On project
* Organization roles
You can also change member roles or remove them from the workspace or projects on the **Members** tab.
### Change member roles
To change a member's assigned role or remove a member:
Navigate to the **Members** [tab](https://app.labelbox.com/workspace-settings/members) under workspace settings.
Select **Workspace** or **Project**, depending on the member's access scope.
Use the **Search members** bar or manually find the member in the **All Members** list.
Click the member's **Workspace Role** or **Project Role** dropdown and select the new role.
Click **Confirm**.
* To remove a member, click the three-dot button, select **Remove**, and then click **Confirm**.
### Using the search bar
To properly search for a member:
1. Select either **Workspace** or **Project** before searching, as each member belongs to only one scope, and searches can only be performed within the selected scope.
2. Ignore the quick search options, as they are only relevant to labeling services customers.
## Groups
The new experience introduces a **Groups** [tab](https://app.labelbox.com/workspace-settings/groups) for creating and managing groups in one centralized location.
### Create a new group
To create a new group:
On the **Groups** tab, click **New Group**.
Enter a group name.
Select a group color.
(Optional) Add a group description.
Under **Assign Projects**, use the **Search projects** bar to find and select projects to assign to the group.
Enter the email addresses of members to add to the group.
Click **Confirm**.
### Manage groups
You can use the **Groups** tab to:
* **Search for groups**: Use the **Filter groups** search bar to find groups by entering a keyword. Groups with matching names or descriptions will appear in the results.
* **Delete groups**: Select one or more groups you want to delete. Then, click the **# selected** dropdown and select **Delete groups**.
* **Manage group members**: Select a group to add members, search for existing ones, and export member or group history.
#### Add members to an existing group
Adding a member to a group automatically adds them to all the projects assigned to the group as well. To add members to a group:
Navigate to the **Groups** [tab](https://app.labelbox.com/workspace-settings/groups) under workspace settings and click the row of the group you want to add members to.
Click **Add members**.
Enter each member's email address, then click **Submit** when done.
#### Manage project access for groups
To add or remove projects accessible to a group:
Navigate to the **Groups** [tab](https://app.labelbox.com/workspace-settings/groups) under workspace settings.
Use the **Filter groups** search bar or manually find the group.
Click the three-dot button and select **Edit**.
Under **Assign Projects**, use the **Search projects** bar to find and assign new projects to the group. Remove any unwanted projects.
Click **Confirm**.
