Invite users

Depending on the level of access required, you can:
  • Invite users to a workspace without assigning them to any projects or user groups.
  • Invite users to a workspace and assign them to specific projects or user groups.

Invite many users at once

invite_users() invites a list of addresses with one role and returns one result per address, in the order you gave them. One bad address does not stop the others. Each address follows the same rules as a single invitation: permissions, seat limits, and invitation emails. Available in Python SDK 7.16.0 and later.
  • Without projects and user_groups, the invitation is workspace-wide and role is the organization role. The NONE role raises a ValueError.
  • With projects or user_groups, role is the role given on every listed project and user group, and the people join the workspace without an organization role. Pass the project or group role itself, such as roles["LABELER"], not NONE.
Each InviteResult has email (trimmed, and lowercased when valid), status, reason, and invite_id (when an invite was created). status is an InviteMemberStatus: A status or reason added after your SDK version is returned as a plain string. The SDK sends the addresses in requests of 100. When a whole request is rejected, for example because you cannot invite members to a listed project or cannot assign the role, invite_users() raises a LabelboxError. Requests sent before it stay sent. Sending the same list again is safe: addresses invited before come back as ALREADY_INVITED or ALREADY_MEMBER and get no second email.
