Data labeling services

You have two options for setting up an external labeling workforce for your project: sign up for Labelbox workforce or invite your own independent workforce.

Adding Labelbox workforce to your project comes with the following benefits:

  • Accelerate your path to production while maintaining high quality.

  • Diversify your workforce and work with trusted labeling teams.

  • Use our metrics to help you understand the progress and performance of your external labeling team.

Set up Workforce

  1. Get in touch with our team to sign up for Labelbox workforce.

  2. Create a new Labelbox project or click on an existing project.

  3. Go to Settings > Members > External workforce.

  4. For the Outsource Firm Provider ID, enter the Labelbox Workforce ID and click Add.

    Note: only Labelbox Workforce ID is valid for this step.


After you add Labelbox Workforce to your project, the Workforce team will be able to add their labelers to your project and the project will appear in their account as a shared project.

The Workforce team will have access to do the following:

  • Manage their own members in your shared project.

  • Label and review assets in your project.

  • Delete & re-enqueue labeled data.

  • View project progress, basic metrics, and labeler performance.

Invite independent workforce

If you would like to use your own labeling workforce, rather than use the Labelbox Workforce, follow these steps:

  1. Add your workforce team to your account as members.

  2. If you want their access to be restricted to a certain project, you can assign them project-based roles.

  3. Assign someone on the team an Admin or Team Manager role so they can manage their members connected to your project.

Note that adding your own independent workforce by adding an ID in the External workforce tab is not recommended.
