# Labelbox documentation

Attachments are media that you can attach to a Data Row to provide labelers with contextual information about an asset while they are labeling it in the Editor.

1. To add attachments upon importing a new dataset:

1. Create a JSON file that contains URLs to the unlabeled assets and the attachments (see JSON formats section below). Adding attachments via CSV is not supported.

2. Once your JSON file is ready for import, drag and drop the JSON file into the Labelbox app. For further instructions on importing new datasets, see

2. To add attachments to an existing dataset, you can use the Python SDK. Visit this Python SDK tutorial to learn how to update Data Rows.

3. To view attachments in the Editor:

1. For IMAGE_OVERLAY attachments, click on the layers icon in the top right corner of the Editor.

2. For IMAGE, VIDEO, or TEXT attachments, click on the attachments icon in the top left corner of the Editor. These attachments will pop out in the right panel.
