Import data

When you integrate with Labelbox, you have 3 deployment models to choose from: Cloud, Hybrid Cloud, and On-prem. The deployment model you choose will determine where your images, videos, and/or text files will live.

The Cloud involves direct import to the Labelbox cloud. With direct upload, you get accessibility to our most advanced features. Labelbox offers data storage services and enterprise-grade security for all raw assets and labeled data stored in the Labelbox cloud.

The Hybrid cloud solution has two separate implementations. You can either use IAM Delegated Access to grant access to your S3 buckets or you can import private (or public) URLs to your cloud-hosted data.

  • Delegated Access allows you to securely and seamlessly host your unlabeled data in AWS while providing the Labelbox application with the limited access it needs. You can use native Identity and Access Management (IAM) roles and policies to control access.

  • Your second option is to import private or public URLs to your cloud-hosted data. With this implementation, you have sole access to your data and are responsible for securing your URLs yourself, if you choose to keep your data private.

In the On-prem model, all of the customer’s data (raw data and labeled data) is hosted entirely on the customer’s servers. Labelbox does not have access to your data and can only provide limited support.

Labelbox supports the following data types and formats:
